Constitution

The name of the Society is ORBITAL SPORTS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION.

The purposes of the Society are:

1. General Purpose

The purpose of the society is to promote peace on Earth through sports in space.

2. Premise

While war–organized physical conflict–that has persisted for tens of thousands of years, is acknowledged to be cruel and inhumane, it is still generally accepted as inevitable even in modern times. However, we—the founders and members of this organization—recognize that the rapid advancements in technology, human organization, and global knowledge present an opportunity to transform our world into one where any form of war resulting in loss of life is considered repulsive and unacceptable by the public and no longer an option for modern governments.

3. Vision

Our vision is of a world where physical war, leading to death or serious injury, is a relic of the past, unthinkable for any modern government, organization, individual, or group.

4. Specific Goals in British Columbia

Leveraging British Columbia’s strong culture of volunteerism and its history of participation in international sporting events, the society aims to foster a community of volunteers dedicated to researching and promoting space sports as a vehicle for peace.
